FAQ

Why the shift to a new location?

Several factors have influenced this need to shift locations: primarily, our lease is set to expire in early 2025 and will not be renewed. In addition, federal funding that was available during the pandemic is coming to an end. As a nonprofit, we are committed to maintaining an affordable, high-quality program, and this move allows us to do so while continuing to serve your family with the same excellence you expect.

Will the new location be safe and suitable for my child?

Our other locations are also three-star preschools, providing exemplary care and safety for all children in our care.

How will the transition be managed in terms of transportation?

We are not licensed to provide transportation. Our other preschool locations where your child is eligible to attend are 3 miles from the Willow Street location. They are also 1 block from a CARTA bus stop.

Will my child's current teachers be moving with them to the new location?

We have offered positions to every current teacher and staff person for them to continue with us at the new locations.

What support will you provide to help my child transition to the new location?

Please contact us any time with questions, comments or concerns at preschool@ymcachattanooga.org. We are planning two Open Houses, and we will send you an invite to attend those sessions and take a tour of the new space.

Will the curriculum remain consistent with what my child has been receiving?

Yes, we will provide the same curriculum that you and your children have grown to know and love. Plus, we are very excited to be able to offer your child swim lessons and two playgrounds.

Will there be any adjustments in fees due to the relocation?

At the new location, there will be no change in your current rate for this term.
