The whole family is welcome during our family and open swim hours! Open swim time allows the opportunity for young swimmers to practice their skills, or just play and have fun.  Parents are required to be in the water with children under the age of 6. Children ages 10 and under must have a parent present on the pool deck.  Children ages 11 – 13 must have a parent on the premises while individuals 14+ may swim without a parent if they are a member. If children wish to swim without a lifejacket and/or have access to the deep end, they must pass a swim test. Children who cannot pass the swim test are required to remain in the shallow end at all times while also in a coastguard approved lifejacket.
We offer red band swim time during our open swim hours in the indoor pool only; this is for those who have not passed their swim test and wish to practice. A parent is required to be in arms reach of the child with complete focus on that child. This is a one child to one adult ratio. For the safety of all people in the water, this policy is at the lifeguards' discretion and parents may be asked to put the lifejacket back on if there is an increased volume of swimmers.
We offer specific lap swim times in the morning and afternoon. Our pool is a multi-use pool, but we do our best to have at least one available lane for lap swimming. If participant numbers allow, we will make more than one lane available for lap swim. The number of lap lanes available during the day are listed on the Pool Schedule in bolded numbers.
During scheduled programs and events there is limited open swim time; members may share the open space with program participants at this time. During Water Exercise classes there is no open swim—as they often require a large portion of the pool. We will notify members of any other programs that require the entire open swim space.
