LIFEGUARD TRAINING
Get trained to save lives! The Healthy Living Center at North River offers a variety of certification courses, from Lifeguarding to CPR/First Aid/AED/O2.  Check out our schedules to see if our offerings meet your needs.


    CPR, AED O2 and FIRST AID TRAINING
    Successful completion of this class will earn participants an American Health and Safety Institute certification.  (If done through a lifeguard class, this will be a Red Cross certification)

      RED CROSS LIFEGUARD CLASS DATES (Must attend all days per class). 

      • UPCOMING DATES:

        • May 15-20 Blended Learning/ Pre-requisite Training: Online pre-requisite trainings will be assigned by instructor prior to course
        • Full Course Class: May 15-20 
        • Lifeguard Review: April 15 and May 13

      Times - Friday 5 -9 p.m.; Saturday 9 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday 10 -5 p.m. (classes- Sunday 9 -5 p.m.)

      LIFEGUARD CERTIFICATION

      PRE-REQUISITES

      • 300 Yard Swim: At least 100 yards must be freestyle, and at least 100 yards breaststroke
      • 2 minutes treading water with hands either out of water or tucked under armpits
      • Sprint to deep end of pool; retrieve 10-pound brick from bottom of pool; swim on your back to the shallow end with brick on chest. Brick and face must be kept out of water. This process must be done in 1 minute, 40 seconds.
      • 15 years of age (proof of age will be required)

       

      LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR COURSE 
      Ages 17+ Must be currently American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified
      Pre-requisite Training: Online pre-requisite trainings will be assigned by instructors prior to course.

      Non-Member Cost:               $325

      • February 18-19 & 25-26

       

      CERTIFIED POOL OPERATOR COURSE 
      Ages 18+ 
      Pre-requisite Training: Online pre-requisite trainings will be assigned by instructors prior to course.
       

      Member Cost:                       $250        
      Non-Member Cost:               $350

      • February 24 from 9 a.m.- 6 p.m.
