Y-CAP SUMMER PROGRAMS

We offer summer experiences for the whole community as well as programs specifically for students enrolled in Y-CAP. When school is out, the Y is in!

Student Programming

For the students enrolled in the Y-CAP program during the school year, we offer an 8-week summer program to expand their horizons through travel and adventure, taking them to new places for experiential learning and opportunities.

Week 1 - Justice: Tour of the jail, visit to juvenile court, meeting judges and attorneys. 

Week 2 - History: Local battlefields, Native-American reservations, Civil Rights museum, TN railroad museum. 

Week 3 - Career: Mayfield dairies, Coca-Cola Bottling Plant, Wright Brothers Construction.

Week 4- Outdoor Adventures: Rock climbing, hiking, biking.

Week 5 - Wellness: Football, tennis, first-aid, pickleball, nutrition and healthy living. 

Week 6 - Fine Arts: Music, museums, pottery, digital art.

Week 7 - Missions & Ministry: Silverdale Baptist VBS camp, Fire stations, volunteering at assisted living. 

Week 8- STEAM: Space center, News/radio station, WonderWorks, recycling plant and more!

 

Youth Boxing

Y-CAP Downtown Summer Schedule:

Class: Monday-Thursday, 8-9 AM

Ages: 8-17

Access: YMCA members & non-members can enjoy this class for FREE.

Registration: Monday-Thursday at 8 AM. Participants must attend with a parent or legal guardian to complete a required release form.

All boxing equipment is provided by the program.
