Summers at the Y aren't just for the younger kids!

The YMCA's Counselor-in-Training program develops leadership skills in youth and prepares them for future counselor opportunities and provides a framework for how to lead groups and be a role model. Teens learn and grow- all while having fun, building relationships and character! With the CIT program teens will learn how to be a day camp counselor, lead others, learn new games and have a little fun along the way.

This would be the perfect fit for someone who feels they are "aged out" of the day camp program but still wants to have fun all summer.  CITs will be in training on Mondays and Tuesdays, assigned to a day camp on Wednesdays and Thursdays to test their new skills, and then have a fun day each Friday.

Drop off is at all day camp locations and CITs will be bused to a central location (Downtown YMCA) on Mondays and Tuesdays for training. Friday fun days include things like Hiking, Stand Up Paddle-boards, Canoeing, Jump parks and other outdoor recreation activities.
