is a project operated by the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga and the Southeast Tennessee Development District and is funded through an agreement with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development.
By participating in the YES Program
, local youth (ages 17-21) have access to a wide variety of educational and job training skills, as well as personal and professional development opportunities.
Here are some ways that the YES Program assists local youth in reaching their goals:
helps youth get up to speed in areas like math, science, or reading, and if needed, help prepare them for the SAT/ACT Test, GED Exam, or TABE Test.
connects youth with a local professional who has been successful in the youth's area of career interest. This mentoring relationship helps to guide them in developing their own professional goals.
Guidance and Counseling
assists youth in exploring their options in regards to education, work and life by providing them with college and career information through workshops and special events.
promotes responsibility and positive social behavior by giving youth opportunities to develop their professional skills and engage in their local community.
