NFL Coach Dan Reeves Featured Speaker at YMCA Prayer Luncheon

Chattanooga, TN (August 28, 2011)  – Former Atlanta Falcon Coach Dan Reeves will be the guest speaker at the fourth annual YMCA Community Prayer Luncheon to be held at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, September 13, at the Chattanoogan.  Mr. Reeves has been named NFL Coach of the Year and AFC Coach of the year and is well known as a dedicated humanitarian and an outspoken Christian.

The program for the luncheon will also include a number of laypersons and clergy offering scripture and prayer.  Reservations for the event will be accepted through Tuesday, September 6.  To register, call 266-YMCA or e-mail info@ymcachattanooga.org.

A native of Americus, Georgia, Reeves began his pro career as a free agent running back for the Dallas Cowboys. He had been a quarterback during his collegiate career at South Carolina and has been inducted into South Carolina's Hall of Fame.
 
His coaching career began when he joined the Dallas coaching staff in 1970, first as a player/coach then later as offensive backfield coach and offensive coordinator.

He was the youngest head coach in the NFL when he assumed command of the Denver Broncos in 1981 as Vice President and Head Coach. A genuine leader, Reeves coached the Broncos to six post-season appearances, five divisional titles, three conference crowns and three Super Bowl appearances during his 12-year tenure.
 
Reeves coached the New York Giants for three years before taking over as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons whom he led to Super Bowl XXXIII.
